Good afternoon! I apologize I haven't been on posting everyday. I've been super busy. I work 5 days a week, I work/ride at the barn 4-5 times a week, and including all the other things I have to do to keep up with my life, including caring for my animals and much more. It adds up and time goes by fast, I'm sure you all understand. Life's busy. I've been getting a lot unfollowers because of it and you can unfollow if you want but I'm just letting you guys know I'm still here, still posting just not everyday. Have a fantastic day! 💚❤️
For some time I have used the image of birds in my painting. I started with simple images on wood panels. I now paint them on small clay pots, wooden bowls, and even furniture. I'm not sure what the attraction is for me. Maybe it is the exquisite beauty of these creatures that are so near to us. We just need to look closely at the ordinary--extraordinary!
Look around you this Monday afternoon. Tell me, what do you see that inspires you? 🌗

So yesterday around sunset I was outside with my dogs and I was shocked when I found not one, but TWO, Rufous or Allen's in my yard!! The first one that flew through left Friday and these 2 are completely new! That means I have had 3 in one week after not having any for 3 years 😂
I found a great post about Rufous vs Allen's written by Sheri Williamson (@sheri.l.williamson), who is the author of "Field Guide to Hummingbirds of North America" and in it she explains how to tell them apart. Here is the link if any of you want to read it 👉 https://www.google.com/amp/s/fieldguidetohummingbirds.wordpress.com/2010/09/06/rufous-vs-allens/amp/👈
