AUSTIN, TEXAS 911! This is an urgent courtesy post from APA PASS to prevent a senior dog surrender to the shelter. Popeye needs a new owner.
The husband of Popeye's owner left her when she was in the hospital..she lost everything, is about to have major surgery, and has to move into a women's shelter. She has found homes for her cats but not for Popeye. Popeye is 16 yrs. old. :(He's a big softie! He loves other dogs, cats, kids, and people. Anytime someone is near he meanders over and leans on them until they pet him. He's in Austin...and it's going to be really sad if he has to be taken to the shelter at this age.
His owner has until August 31st to find him a home. Please contact her neighbor who is trying to help her! email@example.com
Per the neighbor caring for him, he is about 95 lbs, seems healthy and is pretty stable on his feet. He has occasional light incontinence but not consistent or severe. Like many aging pets, some weight loss may benefit him greatly. #popeye#senior#husky#austin#austintx#atx#austindogs#texas#adoptdontshop#foster#rescue#home#family#love#dogs#dog#doglover#dogstagram#dogoftheday#dogsofinstagram#sad#tragic#loss#help#care @txhuskyrescue @austin.catsanddogs.rescue @oneillcris @austindogs
I've known Andre and Marni only for a few months now but that was enough time to know that they are truly crazy and amazing. They are off for 6 months to #Europe and #SouthAmerica and have decided to blog and Instagram their journey, which btw, is totally unplanned. So follow their blog on Tumblr and their Instagram, lastminutemolnars, to see how their journey turns out. Also, if you loved the dogs on my Instagram then you should totally follow them as those two doggos are Andre and Marni's. .
so ill tell you a little about me, Fizbo🤗 in November of 2015 i was rescued by my loving family from new mexico. I was homeless and put on a truck hauled to arizona in a trailer with at least 50 other dogs. My mom picked me up from the drop off point and they were just planning on fostering me. the first week i was there i tore up the entire sprinkler system, smelled so bad i had to get an extreme professional bath, destroyed all the new gravel, ate all the Christmas presents, all due to nerves. but i fell in love with my new family and my sister Sky. when the fostering time came to an end, my new family couldn't watch me go, and adopted me for good. the realtor in the family, my dad, named me Fizbo after "for sale by owner", and it fit me because i acted like a total clown. i was so skinny and malnourished but now i'm fat and happy. i spend my days at the dog park, at the barn, or in the pool with Sky. i think i'm a lap dog and i love to cuddle. I have so many dog friends and couldn't be happier. i climb on everything and everyone because i think im a cat. I love car rides and i sit on the count like i'm a person. i'm also extremely proper and cross my legs when i lay down. i couldn't think of a better life.
if i wasn't rescued, there was a plan to put me down the day after. being rescued by this loving family was the best thing that ever happened to me, and to my new family. I wouldn't have lived to be a year old and a half and now i'm almost 3! if you have the chance to rescue a dog, do it, because you aren't only saving them, you're bringing a lifetime of happiness to you and your family. •
