This time in the morning is not just about getting fit or losing weight or being strong. It's about nurturing my body and soul to help me become the best version of myself.
Today, the current version of myself just didn't feel strong enough for my scheduled PiYo workout. So I listened to my body and switched over to Yoga: Stretch from 3 Week Yoga Retreat. Am I all recovered, no. But do I feel better for allowing myself time to heal, absolutely. 16/21- 30 minutes of upper body! I used weights today but only 5 lbs & still feel great.
We have two choices on how we can handle situations when going through transitions in life we can 1️⃣Stop going after your goals and give up (the old me) 2️⃣Stop looking at the negative and just handle it (the new me!).
We NEED tough love in our life. So here it is, we need to go with option 2️⃣ -- nothing comes with easy work. If you think a healthy lifestyle will just be magically given to you- FALSE! We need to PUT IN THE WORK!
So today- let's take a big deep breath and handle the day!

Funny to think that I fought the idea of home fitness for years before trying it 🤷♀️
It wasn't until all else failed and my back was against the wall that I gave it a shot. Adding gym time to the working mom juggling act 🤹♀️ just wasn't realistic!
3 years later and I'm still going strong! Come to think of it, this is the longest I've gone without falling off the work out wagon 🎉
My gym doesn't have business hours. It doesn't have a childcare room (or xtra fees). It doesn't have rules about who can enter.
The trainers are on call 24/7.
When I'm bored, I can choose any class I want ... dance inspired? weight training? Cardio chaos? Boot Camp? Pilates? Yoga? ... no schedule necessary.
My equipment is mine. No one moves it or puts it away in the wrong spot (y'all know I like order!). My gym travels with me ... around the house, outside, on vacation...I ❤ My Gym! 💡💡💡

Holy sh*t. Hello early morning sweat fest. I literally have sweat dripping down my glasses.
After a late night last night, I wasn't sure if I would get up. But I did, because while it's been awhile, I remember that I wake up best and have more energy on little sleep if I move my body.
This workout was called Drench. It is aptly named, if you can't tell by the sweat drops on the mat and glistening on my head.
I'm awake and ready to tackle the day. How do you wake yourself up after a late night?
Before you ask, no I don't like coffee so that won't work 😜

My transformation Tuesday pic! The left was 8 years ago, a year after losing my first 50 pounds. I was a size 14 than and was so proud of myself but knew I still had so much more work to do. I struggled and fought for more weight loss for 6 years with zero results. Two years ago I walked into @nutrimaxnutrition and spoke to Jay, he went to high school with my sister, and asked him if he knew a good personal trainer and he gave me the name and number of someone that changed my life. The pic on the right was just last week at a size 8! The shorts I am wearing in that pic are getting really loose around my waist and I bought them at the beginning of the summer. Squats are starting to pay off, that makes me happy!!! I yo yoed during those 6 years usually only gaining about 8 pounds for 5 of those years but that last year I put on 20 pounds and was at 198. Now don't get me wrong, I think it is great to have goals. Just don't make them so huge you miss out on the journey to achieve them. I have no end goal. My goal is to continue .. continue to do resistance workouts, continue to run, continue to challenge myself with extra workouts when I can..:but also to continue into my 40s, into my 50s and as long as I can because I love the way I feel. The strength I have gained from these regular resistance workouts are allowing me to train for a 10k in November and then my second half marathon in February. And from someone who 3 short years ago couldn't run half a mile and specifically told JB and @allison_chamberlin that "I'm not a runner" 🙅🏻🏃♀️Then a year later the two of them were running along with me when I finished my first half.
Maybe you aren't a runner, maybe you are intimidated by weights, maybe burpees make you want to cry...just make a plan, let go of your "goal" and enjoy every damn day, because that's truly all we have...TODAY...and you never know what you may be capable of👊 #12weekchallenge#100strong#transformationtuesday
Life definitely moves in circles. I'm working on paying attention to what keeps showing up in my life and how I respond. There's a time to move forward and a time to step back. That's the circle, and I see that pattern everyday.

Feelin' sporty! Yoga has transformed my body since I gained 15kg in 2015 (there was a baby in there too). Getting my body back took more time than I imagined- but patience, love, and consistent yoga brought it all back. Kettlebells provide a great alternative to training with dumbbells and are great to use with single arm/leg work to require your core to work harder to combat the extra weight on one side. •
Today's 5:30am KB workout:
1️⃣ 12 goblet squats
2️⃣ 20 single arm alt. KB swings
3️⃣ 10 push presses
4️⃣ 10 windmills
I completed 4 rounds (2 each side) and rested 30 seconds between rounds. No rest between moves. Happy Tuesday!
When I was young, I would stop doing things whenever I was about to break through to the top. I would prevent myself from being the best, from winning, from shining. I started to think that I was afraid of failing, but I realized that I was actually afraid of succeeding. I was afraid of all that would come with success and what that would mean in my world where I honestly did not recognize my own worth. I have come a long way from being that scared and unsure young girl, and I still feel fear. The difference is I no longer allow fear to hold me back. I no longer let it take over. I've learned to make friends with my fear and to follow it right into the direction I am created to go. How about you? Have you found yourself afraid of succeeding? Afraid of failing? Afraid of not being good enough?? Are you ready to break through that now and step into the highest version of you???
