Even though I'm getting married next month, I've still found myself in the vicious cycle in which I legitimately took some time off exercise (when I was packing and had no space) a few weeks ago and haven't been able to motivate myself to pick it up again. I've been hating myself for being at my fattest ever right before my wedding and asking "why bother now?" The fact is that I'm going to be fat on my wedding day no matter what, but the self-hatred will only get worse if I continue this spiral.
SILVER LINING: Even at my highest weight, I'm still able to hold a forearm plank for 15 seconds. My muscles are still there!
When an athlete signs up at Sicfit Round Rock, they always start them out with a Baseline workout test. This gives a starting point and allows them to measure progress as the athlete grows.
Ten weeks ago I walked into the gym and was unable to complete the baseline test, even with it being modified. My strength and conditioning wasn't there yet, nor was my mobility.
But today was an exciting day for me... After ten weeks of working 1:1 with Coach @kmarie3704 I was able to complete a modified Baseline test in a really respectable time.
I'm so pumped for the next 10 weeks. I can't wait to see how much further along I'll be then!

Doesn't this breakfast look gorgeous??!!! I need to talk a minute about smoothie bowls. While these delicious bowls have loads of vitamins and antioxidants from all the fruit, they tend to be really high in sugar, especially with the addition of processed granola. Having high sugar contents (even though it comes from fruit), can severely spike your blood glucose levels, which can prevent weight loss and lead to energy lows. PLUS, without the addition of healthy fats, your fat soluble vitamins (A, D, E, and K) do not get absorbed. Long story short, many of smoothie bowls that are offered are not as healthy as they appear. SOLUTION. Add protein powder to your smoothie bowl!!! This will help you stay full for longer and also help stabilize your blood sugar (not to mention contribute to muscle recovery). Also, it's good to add healthy fat options such as almond butter, avocado, flax seeds, etc. This will help with satiety and help absorb all those vitamins! Finally, make sure to ask what type of granola they use, to ensure that there isn't too much added sugar (rolled oats would make a great alternative to granola, which would add fibre without the added sugar). Anyway, bottom line is that these breakfast smoothie bowls are very delicious, but can be secretly sabotaging your desired goals. 😭😭😭. So, don't forget to customize them, like this beautiful dish, to make it a healthy option! 💪💪.

I have been nursing an unknown back injury for weeks now.... The pain and spasms have been out of control, so I finally got it looked at after heat/ice/rest/sauna/foam roll/ massage/ chiro/ NSAIDS, and muscle relaxers have done nothing.
XRays are normal, but nerves and discs are a whollllleeeeee other issue. So now I am off of work and working out for over a week, and home girl is notttt excited. But I guess my back and body needs the rest, so here we are 🤷🏼♀️ .
Who would have thought it would be so hard to take a rest day 😂😭😂
Knee physio isn't exactly fun, but it feels so good to finally be able to do some bodyweight leg exercises again.😄 Gotta build those quads back up.💪🏼 Focus on your goals and let that determination drive you forward to overcome any obstacle.🌟
