The finished friction folder knife! Completely forged by hand, the blade consists of recycled mild and high carbon steel forge welded together. The handle was forged from a single piece of antique wrought iron, and two steel pins allow the blade to fold up and extend. As a blacksmith I don't get to make a lot of knives and certainly don't consider myself a knifemaker by any means but am happy with the end result. I wanted to create something highly durable, simple, and aesthetically reminiscent of something ancient/mysterious. Onto the next one! 🔥
I would like to present to you the next generation of little yarn lovers!
We have been fostering this adorable duo for a week and a half now. Then we were told we get to help name them and I was all kinds of excited! Their coloring and love of cuddling made us think of fall which is my absolute FAVORITE time of year.
So now allow me the pleasure of introducing you to..... drum roll please... Jack-Jack and Autumn! Jack-Jack is our little trouble maker pumpkin king and Autumn is our little lover plus her coat reminds me of the changing of seasons. They are already making themselves at home in my current #wip .
Now let's see if they will give me back my hook...

Is it too late for #fridayintroductions ? Let's pretend it isn't.
Hey there! I'm Michelle. Turning 26 in a week and a half and pretending that I'm not having a late-twenties-crisis about it. I have a deep appreciation of bookstores and coffee shops and when they're combined...I think my heart dies with joy. I love everything about summer time, but the thought of big cozy sweaters and pumpkin-flavored-everything has me incredibly excited. Wood burning has become one of my favorite ways to relieve stress andddd I'm going on vacation (finally!) next Friday to beautiful Ocean Isle and I canNOT wait.
Magnolia season!!! Also, in case you missed it yesterday, I have 2 new classes up on my website for September with just a couple of places left. They are the last classes for the year: a day of tea sets or a day of teapot making!
There's a $50 Modern Forestry gift card floating around somewhere. Remember the 15 fall mystery boxes we made up earlier this week? Well, we stuck $50 in one of them and of the ten boxes that have shipped out, we've yet to hear that anybody has found it! It could be in one of the 5 remaining boxes sitting in the studio. 😳 Each fall box has 5 4oz fall candles in it and are on sale for $40. (Link in profile.) .

Just got home from girlbossing at WFM 😥😥 2 more days in my work week. ..
My schedule keeps changing & its really throwing me off. My to-do list is just blahhh.
But I am here & positive. Boom boom😎💣💥. Anyone doing anything fun this weekend?
Sunday morning is for relaxing with pancakes, coffee and a book.
Reality - A "I love the word no" toddle who sat on the floor for about 1 hour crying and saying no to everything. Eating pancakes with a 7 month trying to throw my plate on the floor. What is your Sunday looking like?
Today it was 95 degrees in Denver, but it will be fall in just a few short days and so one preps... 🍂🍁 Thanks for teaching me how to knit @susanbanderson! Using @cloudbornfibers superwash merino bulky available at @becraftsy @craftsyknits ☁️☁️☁️☁️
So if you saw my instagram story you know I have been trying to figure out a font for my business card! Thank you to everyone who shared their vote! I spent most of my Saturday making these little guys. I'm pretty happy with the results though. Simple and clean looking 👌 Etsy shop is still in the works so you won't find anything there quite yet! Stay tuned and happy Saturday! 🥂#emilyslettering
Seattle, you are living up to expectations and then some 👌 So far we've: been to the Yayoi Kusama exhibit at SAM (mind = blown), saw the fish tossing at Pike Place Market, stuck our own gum on the Gum Wall, saw the Otters at the Seattle aquarium, went up the Space Needle, visited the Chihuly Glass museum, freaked out over the Jim Henson exhibit at MOPOP as well as walked soooo much that our legs are starting to not function properly 😆 We've also ate some pretty darn amazing food (@biscuit_bitch @vivacopal @piroshkypiroshky @dahliabakery @beecherscheese just to name a few) and I FINALLY get why people worship at the altar of @target (the Canadian version was nothing like the American store). So happy to be visiting this place I've long dreamed of ❤️❤️❤️
