Yep we dropped the weight right down and took these squats back to basic. Focusing on movement and technique and built up slowly over the last month of training. ----------------------------------------------------- These squats are looking pretty good now and we are in a good place to continue to push as we enter a new training phase tonight ----------------------------------------------------- Sometimes the first step to progression is regression ----------------------------------------------------- Huge props to @vasclementine for showing patience with the process, dropping the weight and getting back to basics. Welp, this is it. Back to the grind tomorrow, but I am ready. I don't think I could have asked for a better summer. I've picked some of my favorite pictures and rumor has it there is even a new blog (link in profile). Week 12 of Ironman training was the well loved recovery week: 24 miles running, 70 miles bike (missed out on 15 miles thanks to a flat😐), and 8200 yards of swimming. The highlight of the week was today's 2.4 mile swim. I had no expectations going in, other than finishing it, and I was pleasantly surprised at how much fun I had and how well it went. I kept thinking "I can't believe I can do this!" There have been so many "firsts" during this training and I always try to take a moment and enjoy the magic that every "first" brings. Special thanks to @cooktraineatrace for putting all of those challenges out there for me. I'm looking forward to a new week of challenges because bike week is back.
