Discovered on 29 March 1974 by farmers digging a well, the Terracotta Army is an incredible sight. Across 4 pits approximately 8,000 soldiers, 130 chariots with 520 horses and 150 cavalry horses have been found, each has a unique face. The army was created to protect the tomb of Qin Shi Huang, the first Emperor of China. His tomb itself has never been excavated as it is protected by an underground moat of poisonous mercury and many booby traps.
Steamed pork dumplings drenched in xian style sauce, sesame seeds + a smattering of hot chilli oil. These little gems can found at the adorably named 'Yumplings' stand.
I FINALLY got a chance to check out the awesome Dinerama food market, and it definitely did not disappoint. The music is popping, the food stands are overflowing with new and exciting dishes, and the vibes are just all round joyful. ❤❤ 10/10 would DEFINITELY recommend.

Markus and I were at the counter in a hostel in China when suddenly I heard a little voice below me ask something about us speaking English. That was when I would meet Nuria, a 4.5 year old Chinese/German girl who was eating an apple. Nuria speaks Chinese, German and English fluently. And she was very entertaining. I am like 9 times her age and I battle with English.
I had so much fun asking Nuria crazy questions and playing jumping games with her that I ended up ditching the adults. Her Chinese mom and German dad ended up becoming good friends with Markus while Nuria and I hung out. There were banners hanging from the roof of the hostel that she wanted to jump and touch. I sent up some small stools for her to jump from. When she first touched the banner on a jump she showed me to end of her longest finger and said, “I touched it with the tip-toe of my finger!”
I made her count for me. She had to think about it between languages to get the numbers in English. Her numbers in order were, "1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 26." My plan was to be in bed early to be up at 04:30 the morning to catch a flight. But I ended up staying it late, partying like a four year old.
